Work With Charities
The Salvation Army: At harvest, the food brought in by the children is donated to The Salvation Army. At Christmas, staff also donate a present to be given to a child in need.
Macmillan Nurses: Last year we raised £200 when the children and staff participated in the 'Bring a pound to work' appeal.
Sponsor a Village Child: Just before christmas, we raised valuable funds for African villages. We placed a wishing well in the foyer of the school and invited children to donate money as they made their christmas wishes.
We also support national fundraising events:
Red Nose Day
In November, the student Council organised a money trail which helped to raise £155.75 for Children in Need
In March, the Student Council worked very hard with the support of the Friends of Quarry View to organise a fundraising day for Comic Relief. The children were allowed wear red if they donated a pound and there were various activities throughout the day. After all of the cakes were eaten, games were played, toys were sold, we managed to raise a magnificent total of over £650.
A big thankyou to everyone who participated. Our donation is already making a real difference to thousands of people’s lives across the UK and Africa, so give yourselves a big pat on the back!
Take a look at some of the fun we had on our memorable day...
It was fun and games in the art room where Chloe Mellor, Y6, plunged her hands into a bucket of beans and spaghetti in search of a red token, which would win her a prize.
Other games consisted of, guess the teddy’s name and pick the malteaser up using chopsticks! - Where both staff and children had a giggle!
A big thankyou to Sue and Marge who helped raise money baking cakes and selling them, which made a huge difference to our total, raising just over £150!
Well done to everyone who joined in the 'design a t-shirt' competition. We received some fantastic designs from all year groups. Our winners can be seen below receiving their Easter egg prizes and books!
