Science

At Quarry View we aim to offer our pupils the opportunity to raise questions, generate curiosity and to investigate and explore the world around them. Science opens many doors in enabling this to take place, both in and out of the classroom.

The curriculum

We are currently developing a Skills Based curriculum and so many of the science Units of Work (QCA) are at present being taught through a cross curricular, topic based approach to learning. Some Units stand alone and are taught in separate block allowing pupils to focus in on a specific area of Science.

Attainment targets

Throughout the key stages, pupils will learn about 4 main aspects of Science. These areas are in accordance with the National Curriculum Attainment Targets.
