RE
The school endeavours to develop children’s self-awareness; to increase their self-esteem and rain force an understanding of the difference between right and wrong; applying this to their own behaviour at Quarry View we recognise that under the terms of the 1998 Education Reform Act, parents have the right to with draw their children from the teaching of R.E. This withdraw may be partial or whole depending on parental wishes. The child will be supervised accordingly.
The RE Syllabus
Quarry View Primary School follows the agreed Sunderland syllabus for R.E. The school allocates 1 hour of curriculum time per week to this core subject Teaching is non-denominational but reflects the fact that the religious tradition of Great Britain are in the main Christian, but must also include teaching from the other principle world religions in Great Britain. The scheme of work produced by the school reflects these principles and the programme of study in the Sunderland Agreed Syllabus
