Physical Education

The importance of PE in the curriculum is highlighted by our schools commitment to strive towards 2 hours of high quality PE within the curriculum. This is acknowledged through our current Activemark status.

Our school has now been awarded Activemark for PE. This is a very special Award given by Sport of England in recognition of our very high standards and for our commitment to promoting all aspects of physical activities i.e. gymnastics, dance, games, skipping and After School Clubs.

To achieve the accreditation from Sport England, a school must prove it offers a well-balanced physical education programme and provides an environment that encourages physical activity and teaches children the importance of staying active for life

Here is just a taste of what Quarry View has to offer!

Our outdoor education curriculum is supported by visits to Broomley Grange, a residential centre situated near Stocksfield in the heart of the Tyne Valley. Here the children get the opportunity to experience the great outdoors.

We take part in cluster festivals every term. This year our Athletics team, girls football and netball teams have been particularly successful. Other festivals include Dance, Gymnastics, Tag Rugby, Tennis and Multi skills experiences.

Through ‘Take Ten’, ‘Active Playgrounds’ and Basic Moves programmes, we are hoping to include an even more action packed physical experience at Quarry. Keep in touch with all the latest sports news here!
