Musical productions

At Quarry View Primary School we enjoy performing to both our peers, our family and our friends. Each term, children in different key stages are given the opportunity to take part in a production. This may involve solo singing, chorus singing, dancing or acting.  Their involvement may also include the making of costumes, scenery or props.

Singing

During assemblies and singing practice we sing a wide range of songs of different styles .

These include pop songs, hymns and folk songs. During assemblies we listen to classical music, jazz, blues, folk, country, world and popular music.

Singing Practices And Assemblies

On Monday afternoon's we have a whole school assembly which is usually led by Mrs Wood.  Friday's assembly is a Key Stage assembly in which children are praised for either their effort, attitude or behaviour. KS1 children celebrate with a 'Golden Book' where as KS2 children have 'Star Award'.

On Wednesday mornings our Reception class and KS1 meet for a singing practice and KS2 meet on Thursday.

Use our mp3 player below to listen to some of our songs.

You may need to download the latest version of flash to view these songs. You can download it here.

Use the backwards and forwards buttons to skip through the tracks, click on a track in the window to listen to it and use the pause/play button to stop and start songs.

Music lessons

At Quarry View Primary School we belive that music is an integral part of our children's continuing learning.

We also believe that all children should be given the opportunity to appreciate and enjoy a wide range of musical experiences as well as developing a sensitive response to music.

At present our music curriculum is under evaluation due to the implementation of a new skills based curriculum.
