Environment

Children’s work on History is represented throughout each year group in classroom and other display areas.

Assessment and Monitoring

Assessment foci are set out in the school’s scheme of work and can be used to demonstrate the children’s understanding/knowledge of a particular skill or concept in respect of the National Curriculum Level Descriptions and Programme of Study.  Children are encouraged to positively evaluate their own work.

Through informal assessment teachers are able to plan more effectively, as opportunities are given to reflect and moderate the permanent plans during planning meetings.

Due to the current trailing of Skills Based Curriculum, SMT are monitoring the changes made to the planning and delivery of this subject, following this the History Co-ordinator and the Curriculum Co-ordinator will review the teaching of the units.
