Assessment
AAIA/DfEE
Assessment at Quarry View Primary School offers all children an opportunity to show what they know, understand and can do. It gives children knowledge about what they can do and what they need to do to continue their learning journey.
There are two main types of assessment at Quarry View, formative and summative assessment.
Formative Assessment
This type of assessment takes place in every lesson, every day. Teachers assess pupil's work and understanding using their professional judgement to help them plan for the next stage of the child's learning. Learning objectives are shared with the children and this forms the basis of the assessment criteria.
Summative Assessment
This type of assessment measures the pupils achievement at specific planned times throughout the year. The School's Assessment Timetable outlines when these assessments take place.
